How the AION 2 Rift Timer Works
The AION 2 rift timer uses a community-observed schedule of one Spacetime Rift every three hours, starting at 00:00 UTC. The countdown shows the time left until the next opening and the table below converts all eight daily openings to your local time. If the in-game notice ever shows a different time, trust the game.
For pet collectors the rift matters because some monsters, and so some pet souls, are only on the opposite faction's continent. Guides recommend picking up the rift quests before you go through and farming in PvE mode. To see which pets live where, open the pet map or look up a name in the pet locator, and read the pet farming guide.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How often does a Spacetime Rift open?
Community players observe a rift every 3 hours, 8 times a day, at 00:00, 03:00, 06:00, 09:00, 12:00, 15:00, 18:00 and 21:00 UTC. This schedule is not official, so check the in-game notice when it disagrees with the timer.
Q: Why would a pet collector care about the rift?
Some pets only exist on the other faction's side. One video guide says to use the Spacetime Rift, pick up the rift quests first and farm those monsters in PvE mode, and reports about an hour on the other side.
Q: Does the timer use my time zone?
Yes. The countdown and the schedule table convert the UTC times with your browser's time zone, and nothing is sent anywhere.
