Each row is the running total at that level, not the increase, so do not add the rows together. Unlocking Swarm takes 5 souls, level 2 needs 25 more and level 3 another 75, which is 105 souls in total (5 for the first step, 105 to reach level 3 from nothing). Owned effects apply without riding the pet. Global pets stop at level 3; higher levels seen elsewhere come from the Korean and Taiwanese versions. Video guides disagree on the exact level that unlocks gliding.
