Where to Find Papis

The community record lists 13 documented monster sources for Papis. Hunt the monster to collect its souls. Levels are the record levels of the monsters, not a minimum character level, and the map markers show areas rather than exact spawns.

Regional Distribution

The map shows where Papis souls come from. Green markers are zones and red dots are monster spawn points from client data. They mark areas, not exact spawns, and were not verified in game. Open a zone to see the monsters to hunt and the other pets you can collect on the same trip.

Why Collect and Level This Pet?

Owned effects apply without riding the pet, so you can keep a favourite mount while building collection bonuses.

   Level 2 adds gliding, according to the community record.

   At level 3, equip the pet and use Empathy Candy to transform, according to the community record and several guides.

Owned Effects by Pet Level

Genus Insight EXP: +500 for unlocking, +250 at level 2, +250 at level 3.

Each row is the running total at that level, not the increase, so do not add the rows together. Unlocking Papis takes 5 souls, level 2 needs 25 more and level 3 another 75, which is 105 souls in total (5 for the first step, 105 to reach level 3 from nothing). Owned effects apply without riding the pet. Global pets stop at level 3; higher levels seen elsewhere come from the Korean and Taiwanese versions. Video guides disagree on the exact level that unlocks gliding.
